RBC serves up 25th Edition of Tobago Tennis Tournament

Tennis enthusiasts are gearing up for several days of exciting competition in the RBC Royal Bank Tobago Junior and Senior Tennis Tournament

For the bank, this year’s competition is especially noteworthy as it will mark 25 years of our unwavering support for the tournament.

The annual competition began in 1984 and ran consecutively until 1999. After a three year hiatus, the tournament was revived and has been held every year since.

In this our 25th year of sponsorship, RBC Royal Bank is proud to stand behind this initiative, which further underscores our commitment and involvement in youth empowerment through sport.

The bank continues to be impressed with the quality of the competition which, over the years, has produced scholarship winners and players who have represented us at the national level.

This year’s competition will run from August 13 – 17 at Shaw Park Tennis Courts, Tobago. Play will begin from 9 a.m. until 9.30 p.m. daily for the duration of the competition.

The tournament will run both Junior and Senior segments concurrently with players competing in the following categories:

• Novices
• Boys and Girls Under 10
• Under 12
• Under 14
• Under 18
• Junior and Senior Doubles
• Men and Ladies Doubles
• Men and Ladies Singles
• Men and Ladies B
• Men Over 40

Through this competition, RBC Royal Bank helps amateur players make the transition to professional status.
